Outside Objects, 2016
A series begun in 2016
Sculpture, installation and performance explore the relationship between physical space and psychological experience. Provisional enclosures, timber frameworks and branching metal forms test our sense of shelter, balance and orientation, making space a changing relationship between object, environment and spectator.
A Temporary Interior, 2017
Performance and photographic sequence
A figure approaches, inhabits and leaves a provisional enclosure in the open landscape. The monochrome sequence explores how gesture and posture turn a boundary into a temporary interior.
Conditions of Support, 2016
Timber, plywood, paint and bricks
Two freestanding timber structures sit between architectural fragment and makeshift support. Exposed bracing, worn plywood and loose bricks question how we recognise stability and assign purpose to constructed forms.
A Point of Uncertainty, 2016
Metal and concrete
A branching metal pole rises from a concrete sphere, contrasting the weight of its base with the apparent fragility above. The work explores how balance, orientation and architectural boundaries are read through bodily experience.
